The registered capital of Fortis Haitong is RMB 150 million RMB. Fortis Haitong is 51% owned by Haitong Securities Co., Ltd. The other 49% is owned by Fortis Investments, which is the result of a lift of the stake from its original 33% to 49% in December 2005. Both partners are recognized for their respective strengths, experience, and presence in domestic and international markets.

Haitong Securities Co., Ltd. (¡°Haitong Securities¡± or ¡°Haitong¡±) was founded in 1988 as one of the earliest securities companies in mainland China. Haitong was transformed to a limited liability company in 1994 and gradually developed itself into a national securities firm. Haitong Securities is deemed to be one of the finest and most successful firms in domestic securities industry.
On June 7, 2007, Haitong Securities gained approval from CSRC for its back-door listing through Urban Agro-Business (600837.CH), and was officially listed on July 31 with the new registered capital of RMB 3.389bn.

The preexistence of Fortis Investment Management SA/NV (hereinafter ¡°Fortis Investments¡± or ¡°the company¡±) is the various asset management companies owned by Fortis and the former Generale Bank of Belgium. In 1998, Fortis and Generale Bank were merged into today¡¯s Fortis Group, which began to reorganize all the business sectors of the group. In 1999, Fortis Investment Management SA/NV was created and takes over all the asset management activities of Fortis. After that, the business of Fortis Investments was expanding and many client service and investments centers were set up in many cities in the world. In 2004, Fortis Investments obtains an "AM2" rating from Fitch AMR. In 2005, FitchRatings affirmed its ¡°AM2¡± asset manager rating to the company. Nowadays, Fortis Investments is continuously expanding its asset management business all over the world.

At the end of June 2007, Fortis Investments has a professional workforce of 988 throughout Europe, America and Asia. Having established a perfect product line, the company manages over 760 funds and over 400 mandates with a total asset under management of Euro 131 billion.
