The investment team mainly comes from Haitong Securities, Fortis Group and other well-known domestic and international financial institutions. The common skills shared by this team are their academic achievements under international standard, abundant investment experiences in both international and domestic markets; meanwhile, they have profound understanding and knowledge of Chinese stock market.

All investment decisions are the responsibility of the investment decision committee which carefully analyzes the impact and opportunities inherent in global and domestic economic cycles and trends. The committee also strives to systematically predict the rate of return of equity, bond, and cash assets as well as potential risks and will adjust asset allocation ratios to reduce exposure to system risk and to steadily increase asset values.

The investment management approach is executed by the fund managers and equity analysts working together to monitor macroeconomics and industry in real-time. They closely monitor fundamentals and technical indicators to forecast market direction. Portfolios are constructed and optimized by selecting stocks and bonds that reflect and optimize predefined and established investment objective. This is to make sure investment objectives are met with minimum risk incurred.

As of March 31, 2008, Fortis Haitong Investment Department consists of 31 dedicated investment professionals (incl. 6 CFA Charter holders). More than half of the members have overseas study or working experiences.
